Wrestling Update – 2/2

Congratulations to the Wrestling team on winning their 6th consecutive BNC title. They had 6 individual champions. Seth Lashuay, Matt Kempher, Jeff Heinz, Trent Hunt, Shane Foster, and Tristan Gregory. Hunter Warden, Jacob Panosso, Danny Miller finished runner ups and Jonah Foote, Matt Jenkins finished 3rd. Congratulations boys! This week they have Districts, so go get em!

The varsity wrestling team won two duels last night, against Ogemaw with a score of 36-24 and over Standish Sterling with 39-24, clinching the team portion of the Big North Conference. Basketball Update – 1/14

The girls varsity basketball team won, 54 points to Grayling’s 32. Leading scorers were Alex Simmons with 18, and Mackenzie Edwards with 17. Weekend Wrap-Up 1/11-1/14

The GHS wrestling team placed first this weekend at the BCC Wolfpack Challenge. The Blue Devils defeated Owosso 39-29, BCC 64-12, Ann Arbor Skyline 68-12, Bad Axe 72-12, and Houghton Lake 73-6. Girls Basketball Update – 1/9/13

Last night, the varsity girls beat Alpena with a final score of 45-33. The leading scorers were Mackenzie Edwards with 16, Maddie Hamilla with 11, and Alex Simmons with 9. Girls Basketball Update – 12/18/12

Varsity Girls lost to Cheboygan, 41-42. JV Girls Basketball team won last night against Cheboygan 53-25. With a slow start in the first quarter down 9-8, came out in the second quarter with full court press and out scored them 19-3, the girls played as a team. Weekend Wrap-Up 12/14-12/16

Congratulations to the varsity competitive cheer team for their outstanding performance Saturday! They took 2nd place, beating out 2 Division 1 schools, while also outscoring everyone in round 3! Wonderful job ladies! The hockey team had a tough weekend, losing both games they played. They all played their hardest, but victory slipped through their grasp.
